Error occurs when connecting super drive to MacBook Pro
I use a MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2023; macOS Sonoma 14.1.2). I also use Parallels to run Windows 11. I also have an Apple Super Drive.
I'm trying to use a disc of artwork, "Dover Holiday Vignettes Full-Color Electronic Designs® for Macintosh® and Windows®" produced in 2001. It's been a few year since I last tried to use this disc, and I'm pretty sure I last used it on a Windows machine. I connected the Super Drive to my MacBook, inserted the disc, and got an error message—
My next trick was to move to Windows 11. I don't remember the exact steps I took, but I was able to see the disc in Windows File Explorer. I opened one picture in Windows Paint and saved it as a PNG file to a new folder in my Windows File Explorer. I was out of time by then, and I walked away and let my machine go to sleep.
I return today to find the Super Drive had ejected the disc. I inserted the disc again and got the same error message (no surprise), then switched to Windows again. Now when I click on the DVD drive, Windows tells me to insert a disc ... but the disc is already in the drive. I ejected the disc and reinserted it, but now I get the exact same error message popping up when I'm in Windows! Suggestions, anyone ... ?
