These last couple weeks i’ve been receiving voicemails but i cannot see when the person is calling me, the notification does not appear. The missed call also doesn’t appear in my recents. I’m not sure what to do, but i know for a fact it’s not my phone plan. any help?

It isn't clear to me if this is happening to all of your calls, very few or quite a few.
This isn't likely to be the reason but it is possible for people to make a call directly to your voicemail. See, for example, https://www.alphr.com/call-directly-voicemail/
More likely would be if your phone was off, not receiving the cellular signal, or if there was a problem in your area with the cellular carrier.
It has happened to me twice about 5 years ago when I was waiting for a call and the first and only notice I had was a voicemail notification.
not all my calls, i get some occasionally. a friend of mine had called me 8 times the other day and i only received one. i also have been waiting for calls daily but i only get the voicemail notification, they can’t send direct voicemails so im not sure.
Do you frequently use the phone in other locations? If so, is there any issue when away from your primary location?
This happens to me 4-5 times a day. My phone is not set to call forwarding and all voicemails are from spam callers
