XQD card reader not mounting

I have a NikonZ6 in need of an update via XQD card reader. I have used this before, long ago when it did work. macOS Sonoma 14.2.1 is not recognizing the XQD card reader.

The reader is not pulling up in Finder, even after ensuring Hard drives and external connections are checked off in Finder's preferences.

XQD reader no longer working with M1 chips? I have a Mac Pro laptop and a Mac Studio, both have M1 chips in them. I do a heavy amount of photography with Nikon as my platform, and XQD cards are the only format that Nikon allows its new cameras to write to. Until two weeks ago, my reader and cards were perfectly fine. After a recent update, however, neither the Mac Pro nor the Mac Studio will recognize the XQD card reader. I purchased a new reader, and that did not change the outcome. I have also used various XQD cards to no avail. Anyone else having a similar issue or have an idea as to how I can resolve it? Thank you.

External card reader I have a Sony XQD card reader which, since the upgrade to Monterey, is no longer recognized by Finder. Strangely enough, if I leave the card in the camera and connect the camera to iMac then Photos automatically recognizes it. Tried it on my new Macbook Pro M1 Max: the same result. I was afraid it was the card reader but that thing works fine on a windows device. Any suggestions

I have the same problem. The Sony XQD reader (MRW-E90) shows up on the Hardware System Report but does not show up in the Finder (with all the options checked).

Sony does not have any firmware downloads for this device.
