Genius results can’t be updated right now. An unknown error occurred (18004).

for the past 2-3 months my Apple Music has stopped working completely and I have lost my entire Apple Music library as its stopped synching. When I tried to re synch that's when I lost my library and keep getting the same error message "Genius results can’t be updated right now. An unknown error occurred (18004)"

This has also happened on Apple Music on my iPhone as well as this has stopped synching now too and when I tried to reset it I lost my entire library on there too.

Any tips or ideas to fix this? Would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, check this thread:

Apple Music error 18004 - Apple Community

Even this concerns macOS, many people there post issues with iOS devices too. Web version on music.apple.com shows full library. So your library should still be there. I guess Shazam or apps like Sonos use this webservice as endpoint to Apple Music, as the show media and playlists as well.

There seems to be a problem on Apple server side. Many tries to log in again, change password, turn off and on Apple Music cloud sync, etc. won’t help :( I'm afraid there is no solution for this yet.

Hope Apple fixes this soon.
