play count not updating

Ever since I updated my iPhone 15 in late November, my play counts on my Mac have not updated. I have tried everything I could find online but they still won't update.

New iPhone 15 Pro will not update Play Count in Apple Music I recently upgraded to an iPhone 15 Pro and now my Play Counts have stopped syncing between my devices. When I listen to a song on my iPhone, it does not show up as played on my MacBook Pro. I see that other users are also reporting this issue since installing IOS 17 which clearly has a bug. This is frustrating as I use smart playlist that reference the "Last Played" as well as "Play Count" information which is not syncing anymore. I have also spent more than 3 hours chatting with Apple Support who has not been able to resolve this issue yet. I am hoping by reporting this, it will help prioritize a fix for this issue in one of the next release updates.

Play count not updating again This past 6 days, the playcounts on my Mac library haven't been updating with music played on my phone. I've tried everything - synced devices. Unsynced and re-synced. Updated all my settings and all updated. Unauthorised and authorised my device. Updated itunes library. Connected my phone with cable to my Mac and synced up. The recently played also doesn't update - it's soooo frustrating - please help!

Same for me! Ever since updating to iOS 17.

I have a playlist that I use to rotate my music. I just this all the time when I am out and about. For the past few weeks, the songs that I play on my iPhone have not been updating to the cloud. Songs played on An Apple TV, however, do update their play counts in the cloud. So… is there a solution to this from Apple, yet?
