Play counts no longer updating from iPhone

I've noticed that Apple Music is no longer updating the play counts when I play music from my iphone as of maybe two weeks ago. Is there a reason for this?

New iPhone 15 Pro will not update Play Count in Apple Music I recently upgraded to an iPhone 15 Pro and now my Play Counts have stopped syncing between my devices. When I listen to a song on my iPhone, it does not show up as played on my MacBook Pro. I see that other users are also reporting this issue since installing IOS 17 which clearly has a bug. This is frustrating as I use smart playlist that reference the "Last Played" as well as "Play Count" information which is not syncing anymore. I have also spent more than 3 hours chatting with Apple Support who has not been able to resolve this issue yet. I am hoping by reporting this, it will help prioritize a fix for this issue in one of the next release updates.

Plays not updating Recently, when using my Apple Music app, the number of times a song has played is not updating. Typically, I can see a running count of the number of times a song has played on my desktop iTunes app. Sometimes I've noticed songs take up to 24 hours to update. I have "Use Listening History" selected on my iPhone SE and have never changed this setting. I also have this setting set on my iTunes as well and I have never changed it. When playing songs from my desktop, the iTunes app automatically updates the "Plays" in real time. I have restarted, signed in/signed out, shut my iPhone down, etc., etc. There must be something I'm missing, something simple. Anyone know how to get the plays from my iPhone to return to counting the plays?

Same thing for me, although I first noticed updates not occurring towards the beginning of November. Would be great to get an answer for this question!
