Since upgrading to iOS 17, I can no longer create a new contact from an inbound message. Previously I could just click on “info” and then “create new co tact”, and a contact would be created from the inbound message’s number. Now I click on “info” and there is no option to “create new contact”? The page looks super glitchy.

UPDATE: After more testing, I discovered that the “create new contact” option actually IS still there. The problem is that since iOS 17, I have to click “info” and then when I get to the contact details page, I have to scroll down about 15 times through a lot of blank space to finally get to the contact details and the “create new contact” option. It’s super weird. Like 15 pages of just blank space to scroll through. This never happened before iOS 17.
I do have “larger text” option on my phone, so maybe that is causing the problem? But again, this hasn’t been an issue for years until iOS 17. It doesn’t seem to be dealing with the larger text correctly or something?

Correct. But it’s not there anymore since upgrading to 17. I’ve done it a hundred times before. Now when I click info on any new number, it takes me to this screen. The “create new contact” option is gone.
I closed iMessage and restarted. I went into settings>messages and toggled iMessage off and back on. I did a hard reset in the phone. I even upgraded to 17.1.2, but nothing changed. I’ve tried this on different new inbound numbers as well.
Again, I have done this a hundred times before. Ever since 17 though, the create new contact option is gone.

I had this same issue until I saw your post. I also have larger text on my phone. I went back and changed my to a smaller size and still had that issue - but maybe I have to restart my phone for that to take effect. Thank you for discovering this, though. I manually typed in a bunch of contacts because I couldn't find it!
If you click the top profile in the message then hit info there should be a button that says create new contact.
They may have added new text options and yours was messed up. Since the ios is fairly new there still may be some unfixed bugs. Hopefully I helped.
