Phone refuses to forget Bluetooth device

My phone will not forget my earbuds I clicked the little I symbol and everything and now it appears in the new devices section but everytime I click it, it only shows to forget the device but never actually does anything I have reset my phone turned off Bluetooth I don’t know what to do anymore
