Apple CarPlay clock is too small!!!

I have a problem with the CarPlay clock. When using CarPlay, my regular stereo clock is no longer visible and the CarPlay clock is way too small to easily read while driving. Why can't Apple implement a larger format clock (maybe visible when in split-screen mode). I can't imagine it would be too difficult. Anyone else have this problem, or is it just me?
