Syncing Apple Music Play Count and Last played info between iPhone and Mac

I am having an issue where the Play Count and Last played info, is very slow to update on my shared devises when I've listened to a song on iOS.

For example I have a playlist that contains songs that have not been played in the last 7 days. When I listen to a song from it, it's removed from the playlist on my iPhone, but it's still in the playlist on the Mac. These do seem to update eventually, but I'm looking for a way to trigger this.

I use Apple music on two Macs, and to update the play history I select 'Update Cloud Library' in the menu of Apple Music on the Mac I've been listening on.

I have 'Use Listening History' turned on on my phone and 'Devices update play counts' ticked on my Mac.

I reported this several times with no answer from Apple. It was supposed to be solved when 17.1 came out, but it never worked for me then and still doesn't work today. It's frustrating because when I listen to a playlist on my iPhone, the songs are not updated on my Mac, and vice versa. I tried all the suggestions others made, but they still didn't work. What's the point in having a "last played" filter if it won't work?
