Apple pay not working on apple watch but working on apple iphone

I had not thought about restarting the Watch. Done that and problem solved. No reason found. Yesterday it worked, today it did not.

Well, I have Watch 4 and Apple Pay works as usual. Updating should not have changed anything. Try restarting your Watch and iPhone and see if that helps. Sounds like a glitch during updating.

I have many cards & tickets in “Wallet” & all have worked on both iPhone 13 with latest update and watch (4). Once I did the update on Watch Apple pay on watch stopped working - I can see the cards on my watch, but when I double click, it gets declined at the POS. I most use wallet on my phone to pay— there’s no problem paying with the double click from my phone.

Your issue is different than the Original Poster. You should have created your own post/topic and not expect answers intended for other community members to fix your unrelated issue.

I did the update. I powered my watch on and off. I still am not able to use apple pay with my watch. How frustrating! It worked fine before the update

You may have a different issue. The OP had no cards in Apple Wallet on his Apple Watch. Are you payment methods in your Wallet on your Apple Watch?

Duh— doesn’t work- after restarting- wallet only functions from phone (yes, updated to latest ios on both watch & phone)

I did the iOS 10 update and Apple Pay was working just fine on the Watch before the update. I tried using it today and it did not work. Please Apple give us a solution.

Same! Apple, please give us a solution. I did the update double clicking, the sidebar did not work however, Apple Pay did work on my iPhone please fix this glitch.

In my case, I have Watch series 8. Before today, begin of the week, there were all my cards but today the display mentioned "There are no payment cards or other cards ."

And in the list in the Watch-app on the iPhone (14), with ApplePay information you should be able to bring the cards back to the watch, but that is also not possible. If I try it says that the configuration of Apple pay failed.

I rely on the watch for practical all my payments. So it was a bad surprise at the teller.

For old timers the #1 troubleshooting tip for any electronic device is unplug the thing or turn it off, wait a couple of minutes, plug it back in and turn the thing back on.
