My child smashed the mouse that controls my Mac Mini. I am trying to connect an older Bluetooth mouse using keyboard commands. I can get this far.
I assumed hitting return would select this but nothing happens. I’m using a keyboard without a numeric keypad.

Pull the Batteries out of the Mouse and pause maybe 20 seconds.
Hoping this will, sort of, UnPair the mouse from the long gone computer
Replace the batteries and 🤞 it works

I would assume the same thing. Fresh batteries? Is the mouse on? Is it paired to a different computer?
What mouse is it?
I wasn't sure if the icon shown is just generic for any Bluetooth mouse. Maybe someone else will have a thought. Mine would only be speculative.
The Mac mouse has fresh batteries. It was paired to a computer that is long gone. You can see it selected in the photo. The Mac mini knows it’s there. I just can’t select it. The keyboard is also fully charged.
