Create a shortcut folder on my desktop that takes me to the folder in question

Hello,

I'm struggling.

I'd like to create a folder on my desktop which is a shortcut to the folder within my MAC. This is very simple to do with a Windows machine. I have googled how to do it on a MAC, looked for help in this forum and I am non the wiser.

Can someone advise with straightforward steps to do this please?

Thank you

James

To create an shortcut (alias), follow these steps:

  • Open Finder.
  • Navigate to the folder you want to create an alias of.
  • Select the folder.
  • Choose File > Create Alias.
  • The alias will appear in the same location as the original folder.
  • You can drag the alias to your desktop.
