iPhone 13 Pro, IOS 17.1, is not allowed to connect with my iTunes 12.8.3.1 on a MAC Pro running 10.13.6 High Sierra
Since my iPhone 13 Pro (and iPad Air 5th Generation) were obediently updated to the las IOS versions, 17.1 & 17.0.3 every time I connect any of them to my Mac Pro there is a Prompt asking to perform a software update to connect with any of those devices. The bad part, if you click install the "update" the propmpt comes back indicating that the installation failed due to a Network problem. If you decide to click "not now" in the same prompt the prompt dissapears and the device you attempt to sync doesn't show up anymore. Regarding to the "Network Problem", I have a 1Gb Fiber connection that is certainly up and running at the moment the process attempts to run the update. I tried in different times and also bringing down all the network protections I have in place. For proper context I have to add that this machine and software versions have a reason. My digital assets are been processed using Aperture 3 for Photography and iTunes for all the other media. I process about 25000 photographies and purchased since iTunes was released around the same amount of music that I mix in different playlist with my own digitalized music having a total of 38000 music files. Unfortunately Apple decided to discontinue Aperture first and later on iTunes. I have another Mac running the last Sonoma version, I purchased that with the hope to migrate content but, guess what, in the new Mac Aperture doesn't run and iTunes doesn't exist... worse part, cannot even run my iTunes library in an external HD where I mirror my content just because each time I update a playlist in the old Mac and mirror the changes in the external drive the new Mac doesn't realize that there was a change and makes this totally worthless to waste time trying to sync again. I am sure that Apple has the right and responsability to update its products but cannot leave loyal Customers unable to keep working with the applications they feel comfortable with. Important is to mention that I carry an old iPad 5th Generation running 16.7 and this still sysnces with my iTunes Library. Unfortunately cannot roll back the IOS on my iPhone and iPad Air. I need a solution that will allow me to keep my new IOS devices in Sync with my digital assets.
