Two days ago my iPhone13 started popping up with "Password Incorrect" for my hotmail account. One of many hotmail accounts I have on my phone.
I have verified the password was correct. I have changed the password and re-inputted it. I have deleted the account and reinstalled it WITH the new password but nothing has worked.
This hotmail account (with the new password) works fine on my Mac, my iPad and via browser, it simply will not work on my iPhone.
I ended up downloading the Apple Support app and it was surprisingly helpful. I went through the question/answer process and was finally connected to an amazing Customer Support Assistant that spent over an hour helping me with my email issue and numerous other issues I was having with my Mac and even my Apple TV.
The endstate to the email issue was that I had setup my email on my phone using "Exchange" for my Hotmail account and that was causing the problem. When the CSA and I removed and reinstalled my email using the same Hotmail account but using Outlook, the problem went away and I've had no issues with it since.

I’ve been getting the same message. I was worried it was a hack/phishing scheme and a way for someone to hijack my hotmail account. I can’t even remember my old hotmail password and suspiciously I can still see my email. Reminds me of the old hack where your calendar was replaced by what looked like a corrupted version of my calendar but I just needed to find and delete the calendar that was inserted.
Is ANYONE ELSE having this issue? The pop-up keeps happening OVER & OVER & OVER and I cannot get it to go away unless I completely remove the single email account that is causing this.
