Spotify on HomePod (gen 2) not working telling me to update device already running iOS 17

Very Disappointed in this purchase as of 17.3, I loved my speaker until I was told you can ask Siri to play from Spotify with HomePod os 17, started immediately having problems not being able to play from Spotify using Siri with my phone updated and on the same network getting the update your iPhone prompt, few months go by and 17.3 comes out and now I can’t airplay at all???? Seams like I now have a $300 speaker that’s a really nice paper weight…. I can play music though the Apple Music account for HomePod but it will still play a song 2 minutes after hitting play and then to top it off after one song and a half it’ll just stop and pause for 15-30 seconds and then resume like nothing happened very frustrating and would like some answers on when all this will get fixed, and when I can get speakers back or If I should just switch device company and gain full control of my Home again with Alexa VERY DISSATISFIED

just to cross some things off the list

• they are connected to the same WiFi network
• they are signed into the same iCloud account
• I do have Spotify updated to the latest (8.8.86)

Yes both are now running 17.1.1 nothing has changed

As of 12/17/23, the issue has not been resolved, with no help or outreach from Apple, still disappointed to spend that much on a speaker and can’t get a software update to fix
