Keyboard won’t fit on screen

On the bottom row the emoji and microphone buttons are set so wide as to be barely visible and don’t respond to touch (I can’t use either).

Check:

Settings>Display & Brightness>Zoom = Standard or Default

and/or

Settings>Accessibility>Zoom = OFF

When done, restart your device and test it.
