iPhone overheating and draining battery

Hello Firebird28, Have you tried going to Settings > Battery > scrolling down and seeing that app that is using a lot of your battery power. Normally it is the first app shown. Knowing which app is taking all your battery power will help you on the corrective action to take.

• Place it Atop: a Laptop Cooler
• Keep it in: an open space
• Keep it Out of: direct sunlight

See if you need to clear lots of space. System resources may be using up too much services, making it overheat. Internal storage cannot be upgraded. iPhone 7 is great phone but it has been out for 7 years now and all older phones tend to overheat and battery drains faster maybe try upgrading to a newer model
