Apple Music is not saving new Albums or Songs into my library after being added. They will appear for a few seconds and then are removed. Have not encounterd this issue before.

When I add new songs or albums in Apple Music on iPhone (14 Pro Max, 17.1 iOS), they diappeaer from my library and from Recently Added in Apple Music.

This has been happening for several days. For some reason, the issue also seems to only be related to Albums or Songs I've added, but not to Playlists which seems strange.

Wondering if anyone else has encountered this or if there are any recently known issues, any help or guidance to resolve the issue is much appreciated.

Edit/Update:

I no longer seem able to add individual songs to the library.

I remember reading that Apple had a cap/limit to how many songs can be in an individual’s iCloud account, although they doen seem to specify or point that out that I know of. Curious of this may have anything to do with it?

I’ll try to dig into that some. Not sure how many I have, but it is significant.

Wondering if you have enough free memory / storage space on your iPhone for the music files,

as well as around 8 Gb free in which your iOS system can operate smoothly.

and

If needed: You might want to back up all your data, before making more space on iPhone.

Thank you kindly for your reply, and for ruling out memory / storage as the cause.

You could check you are signed in (on your iPhone) to your Apple ID:

Sign in with your Apple ID - Apple Support

and that you are signed in to the Music app:

Eg: Open the Apple Music app and tap Listen Now.

In the top-right corner, tap the photo icon.

Sign in with your Apple ID and password.

If you wish:

You could check the availability of Apple Music in your country or region

Brbo, thanks for the thorough answer and clear steps.

I should have specified that I have adequate memory on my phone and iCloud storage.

I had around 400 Gb when I originally posted, which should been more than adequate space, but have since tried deleting and then reloading the Apple Music app and now have 800 Gb free on the phone. Unfortunately, I’m still having the same issue.

Unfortunately, I have tried all of those things to no avail.

Another point of clarification, is that I’m having this issue with new a

albums I’m trying to add, they are not currently in my library. And strangely, I’m able to add Apple Music curated playlist, and songs individually, just not albums themselves. Once I add them, they will be in the library for about 3 to 6 seconds and then disappear.

I got on the phone with Apple support, and the representative had not heard of this issue. They suggested that I log out and back into my iCloud account, which resolved the issue for about an hour (one or two albums that I added during that period are still in my library), but then the issue began again and I have been unsuccessful with adding anything since.

I’ve been using iTunes since it was introduced in 2001 (?), and Apple Music since it has launch, and have never encountered an issue like this. Very strange!

That seems to have been the problem. I’ve cleared some space, and seem to no longer be encountering the issue I was having.

I just need to be careful about what I clear, as I have a decent a mount of music that is not available for download or streaming from Apple Music directly.

Brbo, thanks again for your detailed suggestions, links and assistance in trying to find a solution for the issue!
