Having to factory reset Airpods Max after every charge

My Airpods max have worked fine for at least a year. I take them off when I leave my desk and plug them into the charger. Today, every time I unplug them they will not connect and the noise cancelling is turned on and will not turn off. I have to do a factory reset to connect to my iPhone or PC.

This happens to me too, started after they were returned after a repair by Apple.

Happens regardless if they are connect to my iMac or iPhone.

Read on various forums over the months that others have had this issue, but so far no solution :(


I also have AirPod Pro's (1st GEN) and have zero issues with those, just the Max for some reason.
