Software upgrade from MOS Big Sur to MOS Sonoma
Is it wise to upgrade straight to Sonoma (my MAC is compatible) or should I upgrade to Ventura first if so how do I upgrade to Ventura when I am only being offered Sonoma

I wouldn’t bother with interim version updates. Just go straight to Sonoma.
Be VERY CAREFUL, however, to check the compatibility of your 3rd party apps before doing so and make doubly sure you have a good backup.
