Every time I’m typing (since upgrading to ios17) the bloody phone just opens a different app for no apparent reason and I have to go back. Incredibly frustrating and I’m about to smash this phone with a rolling pin!! Anyone else experiencing this??

Thanks for the reply… it randomly switches to any other open app… not just one particular one. In fact it just flipped during this text!!
I will try another reset of my phone but I’ve reset the **** thing 3 times in the past week for other issues.

Thank you (both) I will do that when I’m back in the US! It also won’t show the keyboard when I swipe down for the search bar, so it may be exactly what you suggest. Just seems weird it happened right after I downloaded IOS17…
Did you try to uninstall the app that is opening, and hard reset the iphone?
Did you update to IOS 17.1?

I agree with Katana-san. It sounds like your touch screen is failing. You should have Apple run diagnostics.

This is happening to me too. Consistently when typing a text, multi-tasking opens and I have to click the messages app to get back to my text. SO annoying!
