Mainstage midi flooding with "Send Value To"

For no apparent reason the "Send Value To" functionality when in the Layout tab is completely broken. I select a midi port, channel, type, number and set "Send Value To" to the exact same midi port. You'd expect a single midi message to be sent out after for example you change a patch that has a different value on that particular knob but instead, in my case, it sends over 300 midi messages ( i literally cannot count them there's probably more than 500 ) and completely floods the channel. Is there a workaround for this issue? I've tried a fresh new concert with only 2 patches and the problem is still there, it's a completely unusable feature.
