iPhone 14 Pro Crashing Over and Over

A few days ago, my iPhone 14 Pro randomly crashed while I was scrolling on Instagram. I turned it back on and it continued working fine. Yesterday, it happened again while I was scrolling Facebook, except it wouldn't turn back on normally. I had to use the up button, down button, hold power button 30 seconds to get it to turn back on. I tried updating to iOS 16.6.1 to see if that would help. Today, it has crashed over 15 times while using various apps/settings on my phone and I have to reset the phone each time. All of my apps are up to date and I have been closing out apps after using them, but it keeps crashing.

What could be causing this? Should I try updating to iOS 17.0.3?

I’m having the same issues as well as battery not lasting and overheating! I’m on iOS 17.1.2…. It’s driving me crazy!!

all apps updated and there is a new software update to 17.2.1 but I’m not game to try it… has anyone had any success with it? Or other suggestions to fix this issue 🙏🏻

Seems iOS 17.0.3 had bug fixes etc., and now iOS 17.1 is available for update.

If your phone doesn't turn on, follow these steps to check your hardware and charge your phone. You may need to charge for up to an hour.

If your phone still doesn't turn on, you may want to contact Apple Support.

If iOS 17 is Installed, does the iPhone Feel Hot?:

A little friendly advice…

Consider Holding Off on the Update:

I’d hold off on the updating —there thousands of reports on these forums of overheating and battery draining iPhones that have resulted after iOS17 has been installed. So, I’m giving it a bit. I’ll update, once all updating is reportedly safe to perform. You may want to consider the same.

“iPhone 14 Pro Crashing Over and Over: Unfortunately, I had to update to iOS 17 to be able to access apps on my phone for work (conditional access). The issue persists (no issues with the device being hot though) and now I'm not able to turn the phone on even with the force reset.

Determining to Install an iOS Update:

Well, if you are required to update, then you have to. Maybe let the the word out of something going on (i.e. overheating) after a you hear of something occurring after an update install. The apps that I use work just fine with iOS16, and, AFAIK, I have no need to install this update. So, I always wait until a few days after an iOS update is released, just to play it safe. This all comes down to the fact that downgrading the iOS is just not an option.
