iCloud Email Error in Mac Mail app

I have been seeing the following error, "Connections to the server “p54-imap.mail.me.com” on the default ports timed out." for my iCloud email. It is only on my Mac desktop and no other device.


Can anyone help?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 14.0

Hi preachercam,


Try starting your Mac to safe mode and testing the connection again:

Start up your Mac in safe mode


If safe mode works well, that indicates software you have starting with your Mac is interfering with the connection.


Try reversing any recent changes or removing login items:

Open items automatically when you log in on Mac
