music not syncing to iPhone 14 Pro

Windows 11 PC, with the latest iTunes, iPhone 14 Pro on iOS 17.0.3. All my music on my phone is directly from my iTunes library. I have a lot, but last week I tried to add some more albums and they're not coming up. I've tried rebooting the phone, rebooting the PC. In iTunes if go into "on my device" it shows all the the albums I tried to add as being on my phone. But when I go into the Music app on my phone they're not showing up. I've tried 10 different albums, and all play fine in iTunes (ALAC) but I just can't figure why they're not showing up up on my phone. I have 200 gigs free on my phone so there's plenty of space.

I've never had problems adding music, so I'm thinking it must have something to do with the 17.0.3 update, if not that I'm lost. I haven't changed anything on my PC and have been syncing music fine for months. I don't want to reset the phone unless I absolutely have to. Anyone have any ideas here?

I have a library of 57,000 songs / almost 500 GB mp3 in iTunes 12.13.1.3 in windows 10 and an iPhone 14 pro max with 1TB of memory.

To get iTunes to sync music library, I have to wait until itunes starts a crashreport process in task manager and then end the process, BUT only during 2/6 Sync. Otherwise, it hangs. Then it doesn't sync the media so I have to restart the sync in iTunes. Then, it's only copying some of the media. Say, 5 out of 14 albums I've added. The Albums show up in my library, but don't get transferred to my iPhone. Delete the 5 albums. Restart windows. Restart iTunes. Restart the phone and re-sync and it recopies the 5 albums still doesn't copy the other 9.

I've tried apple music with the iDevices software, but that didn't work, either.

This is just absurd.

I am having this same issue~repeatedly~unable to sync my iPhone 14 with iTunes on my iMac.

I have tried different suggestions with very sporadic success.

I have tried with restarting iPhone and computer, I have tried putting the iPhone on airplane mode~also just turning off Bluetooth and WIFI with some (albeit very limited and non-consistent success at syncing).

The sync function seems to be always stalled at Step #2 of 5.

Oddly, I have an old iPod touch that i use as music backup and that seems to sync fine.

I have also switched out the port and charging cable (now using usb C to lightning)

The difficulty seemed to happen after the last big iOS update (17.2.1). Both phone and computer are up to date with software but I am beyond frustrated with this issue!!

I would welcome ANY suggestions.

Hi bigheaded951,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! We would recommend the steps below that can help:

Resolve issues between iCloud for Windows or iTunes and third-party security software

If your security software is causing an issue with iTunes
•Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch aren't recognized in iTunes, or they won't back up, restore, update, sync, or activate.
•You see iTunes Errors 4, 6, 1630–1641, 3000–3999, or 9000–9999*.
•You can’t connect to iTunes Store to buy or download content.
•iTunes won’t open.

•Make sure that the date, time, and time zone are set correctly on your computer. Learn how to update these settings on a Mac or on a PC
•Log in to an administrative user account, not a guest account. Learn how to do this on a PC
Update to the latest version of iCloud for Windows or update to the latest version of iTunes.
•Make sure that you have the latest software on your Mac or on your PC.
•Make sure that you set up Windows Hello. Learn how to set it up
•Make sure that you only have one type of security software installed. If you have more than one type of security software installed, you might experience performance issues.

Test your connectivity
1. Check your hosts file to make sure that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with Apple's servers.
2. If you’re having issues using AirPlay, Home Sharing, iTunes, or Remote, test the connectivity between the computers or devices in your house. They should be connected to the same network and subnet in order to function properly.

Test your security software
If you still have trouble after you test your connectivity, your security software could be interfering with your computer's connection with iCloud for Windows or iTunes.
In some cases, it might be necessary to temporarily remove your security software to isolate an issue. Some Internet security apps don’t uninstall completely, so you might need to download and run a cleanup utility for your security software for it to be completely removed.
Work with your security software provider to allow the complete list of ports and services that Apple products use or if you need help with uninstalling their software.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.
