Disappearing emails

Using Mail on ipad and iphone, up to date iOS, also iMac, incoming icloud emails seen to arrive but some disappear before they can be actioned. They haven't been deleted or archived. Just gone from all devices including icloud.com.

No such problem with any other email accounts such as gmail.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.


There are few steps you can take to address this issue and if it persists, contact Apple Support to have them check it out.


On your iPad, Mac, and PC, you can use iCloud Mail on iCloud.com. On an iPhone, use the Mail app instead. 
1. Make sure your browser is up to date. If you're using Safari, update Safari to its latest version
2. Clear your browser's cache. In Safari, choose Safari > Preferences. Click the Advanced tab. Select "Show Develop menu in menu bar", then close Preferences. Click the Develop menu, then select "Empty Caches." If you're using a different browser, check its help menu for steps. 
3. If you can access iCloud Mail from a different location or Internet connection, contact your Internet service provider (ISP) or network administrator. Some Internet configurations intentionally or unintentionally prevent access to certain websites or services, such as iCloud Mail.

Thanks for the input

I have 5 devices, 1 main ipad plus iphone plus an iMac and other older ipads all turned on intermittently.

The ipads / iphone are all updated to latest iOS so safari also up to date

The 'old' iMac still on Big Sur where it must remain unfortunately but also up to date


I emphasise that this a random issue, some icloud incomings are not affected, when they are I'm pretty sure it only happens after I've opened one of the other devices as well as the main one

No idea why that should happen, certainly no deletion on my part.

So I've now closed down the Mail app on all devices apart from the main ipad, no great hardship.

i will be switching to a new isp at the end of the month and watch with interest whether the problem is still there.
