How do I turn off the sound while I’m typing in a text without disabling the microphone button?

It seems like you tapped the microphone icon to turn voice in put on.

How to remove microphone from SMS / Text / iMessage window When I close my wallet on my phone after sending a text message it often accidentally activates the microphone and starts recording what is being said (I think for dictation - the the recording 'wave' is red)).
