Well, for seemingly the umpbillionth time, gapless playback is broken on the Music app, ever since the launch of iOS 17 And even with the RC of iOS 17.1, it's still broken. I've reported this issue on the Feedback app several times and yet it's still unfixed. On the other hand, gapless playback works just fine on macOS' Music app.
It's really annoying how such a basic feature can be broken and go unfixed for a long period.
It's not a settings issue. It has been a recurring issue with synced mp3's for many users over multiple iOS updates the last few years. It really ruins the listening experience for user who like to maintain their own library.

have you tried the audio settings in settings?
I messed with all the audio settings.
Nothing fixed the problem.
