Preview saving in wrong location

Hi, I am having issues with Preview after an update to the OS (Sonoma 14) yesterday. What it is doing, on a save it automatically is saving in a folder called "printing.76681.5" by default. It must be some system file that is hidden, bc I can't search for it, nor does it come up on recents. I change the location, but any new save files goes back to this weird folder as a default. I tried to go to the library/preferences/com.apple.preview preference file (as some have suggested here) to delete the preference file, but cannot find one. Nor does it pull up in a search. If anyone can help me? It is super annoying.

Thank you!

It is shift+option+cmd+S to force open a Save As… panel in Preview. That is even on the File menu when you just press the option key.

Provided one is on the local or iCloud filesystem, Preview will autosave changes to the same location as the opened file. Since I do not use any other Cloud solution (e.g. Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive) I cannot comment on how Preview behaves when it has previously saved to those locations. My Preview on Sonoma 14.5 behaves exactly as it should with saved documents.

Apple is not here and posts about problems are only read by fellow users. So continuing with "me-too" posts here without more tangible information such as where the offending file has been saved won't gain much fix traction short of suggesting a reboot of the Mac, or if a non-Apple Cloud location, test Preview without that Cloud save involvement.
