it seems to me that the log option is just a marketing stunt for the new 15. The log isn’t hardware related in any way with the new phone, it’s simply bypassing the artifacts added by apple video software … making it available also for the 14 and 13 would be just an honest option by apple, come on

i was talking about the “new” ProRes log option in the iPhone 15. I have the 14 pro and the videos take with it are honestly really bad, way too much sharpening and contrast. The new ProRes log addresses that offering the possibility to grade from a clean starting point and, since this is made simply by changing the software and doesn’t need any special hardware, I don’t understand why you don’t need ProRes log available also for iPhone 14 pro… that’s what I was talking about , apple giving the option to film and take photos without the terrible automatic sharpening and super contrast applied directly by the software.
