Homekit no longer recognizing geofencing since 17.02

Ever since the upgrade Homekit is not recognizing geofencing. I have it set up so that when we get home when it’s dark the hall lights go on. No more! I thought that an automation might fix that but it makes it worse. It goes on all the time and not just when dark. Plus when you ask Siri to turn the lights off any other light that was on also goes off.

What am I missing that needs to be done. This geofencing is great as we’re senior citizens and it’s best to have lights on as we walk in to avoid falls.

Just following this. I’ve got the same issue. I’m running 17.1.2 and have two home icons in the privacy / location settings with no option to be always on.

Really annoying as this was working before hand.

We're having geofencing issues as well since 17.0.2. When the last person leaves automations fires when everyone is home, X person Arrives Home scenes firing when X person is not arriving home, When X person Leaves firing when XXX has not left. Complete sh*t-show.

I've had to disable them all because they were firing in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT and turning all the lights in the house on.

Hello mberan,

Be sure to check and see if your HomePod is using the latest available software as well: Update HomePod - Apple Support

Have you been able to upgrade to the new Home architecture already? This page has info/steps on upgrading to ensure that's done: Upgrade to the new Home architecture - Apple Support

It may also be helpful to try fully deleting the automation(s) that were set up, and then re-create them, and see if they now work as expected.

Cheers.

Hello. Yes. 1 is for “allowing location access” which I have checked “when I share”. The other is checked for “while using the app”. Is there an issue? I have now set up a scene which allows me to as Siri to turn these lights on but it requires me to do that, unlike before when I got within a radius they simply turned on by themselves.
