Can you use the Apple gift card anywhere?

Can you buy an Apple Watch from Amazon with your Apple Gift Card or do you have to use it with Apple?

how do I use an apple gift card I received a $275 credit when I traded in my Apple iPhone 12 to buy an apple iPhone 16 Pro Max. I would like to use the funds to apply toward a watch series 10. I did not see how to do that when I go to buy the watch.
