I am currently running OSX Big Sur 11.7.9 on my late 2015 iMac. Do I qualify to upgrade to OSX Monterey?
If yes, need instructions....thanks!

Not sure I thought it was OSX Monterey. It will be delivered tomorrow 9/30. If it is free can you tell me how to get it using my Apple computer? I made the upgrade choice and got nothing. I then went to Spotlight and called OSX Monterey up ending up with Amazon for $20.
Sorry, but I beg to differ, at least in my case. I followed your instructions and got the OS Monterey App download page. When I invoked it it just kept cycling and cycling and did NOT download Monterey to my computer. Any additional thoughts or ideas? Sorry to be such a pain but this process should be a **** of a lot simpler and easier.

That's a mid-2015 iMac. It is not compatible.

Thank you for checking. Looks like I'm dead in the water until I upgrade my hardware. I'm considering the Macbook Air with the latest chip. Also, the newer smaller iMacs look attractive. Do you have an opinion?

The main consideration between the MacBook Air and the iMac is do you need portability.
I used MacBook Pros and Airs when I needed portability but my needs changed and I now have the 24" iMac.
The large screen is nice but not a big deal for me. I do like that the keyboard and mouse or trackpad are separate units and easily and relatively cheaply replaceable if there are problems (and I did have problems with the portable Macs0>
You're welcome. FoxFifth is correct. If you need portability the MacBook Air is a good choice. If not, an iMac or even a Mac mini with a Monitor would be in the cards. Even more so if you would prefer a larger screen.
Final point. If Monterey is supported why did I have to get it from Amazon at a cost of $20?
A late 2015 iMac can be upgraded to the latest version of Monterey macOS 12. See:How to download and install macOS - Apple Support

Open System Preferences > Software Update while in Safe Mode.

The biggest advantage is Big Sur is no longer supported but Monterey is. So would have later security updates.
Thanks! Does Monterey introduce any new Apps, wallpapers, etc.?
macOS Monterey is free (as are all recent Mac upgrades and updates).
What exactly did you purchase on Amazon and who was the seller?
