I have been using screen time with my kids for over a year and recently I quit getting notifications. Now the requests for more time or an app are being sent to my email. Is there any way to change this back or at least get a text message?

This page also explains using the Ask To Buy feature: Approve what kids buy with Ask to Buy - Apple Support. These notifications should be sent to each device you have signed in with your Apple ID )or the approver's Apple ID if not yours.)

Let's check how you have the Messages app set up: Set up Messages on iPhone - Apple Support
If you go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, do you have both your phone number and Apple ID selected under “You can receive iMessages to and reply from.”? If you've only selected your Apple ID, see if selecting your phone number allows the notifications to appear in Messages or the Notification Center.

I am having this same issue, screen time requests are no longer coming in as pop up notifications. They now come in as imessages to my iCloud ID. This started since all our devices were updated to iOS 17.
There are more reports from others of the same issue on Reddit.
My question is how can I get them sent to me as a message and not an email? I used to get it as a banner pop up and if that is not an option how can I set it to sent me an iMessage?
