iPad OS 17.0.1 broke hardware smart keyboard detection

iPad Pro 2017

iPadOS 17.0.1

Logitech 'Rugged Folio' Smart Keyboard

Since foolishly upgrading to iPad OS 17.0.1 my Logitech keyboard is no longer automatically detected and the keyboard does not always work with the iPad. 'Hardware Keyboard' does not automatically appear in settings when the keyboard is attached.

Detaching and re-attaching the keyboard usually does not solve the problem.

A hard re-set often solves the problem (pressing power button and home button simultaneously until the iPad re-boots).

Sometimes 'Hardware Keyboard' disappears and reappears at different times during the day.

How can I report this to Apple? I had a perfectly functioning iPad and smart keyboard before this upgrade. The issue is not the keyboard itself.

Apple invites submission of bug reports via its Product Feedback portal. For iPad and iPadOS:

Feedback - iPad - Apple

As the issue relates to third-party hardware, in this case Logitech, you might be best advised to seek assistance from Logitech Support - as they may be aware of the issue and able to offer appropriate advice.

Otherwise, you might seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page. Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:
