Unexpected cellular data usage after ios 17.0.1 update

After updating my iPhone 13 Pro Max to iOS 17.0.1, I noticed an unexpected increase in cellular data usage. The data usage was primarily attributed to System Services, particularly Software Updates. Despite disabling auto updates and restricting cellular data for all apps and settings, the data consumption persisted. I have attempted various troubleshooting methods without success, and I am seeking a solution to this issue. Any assistance in resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, I have resorted to completely disabling my cellular data and setting my phone aside until a solution is found. :(

I have an iPhone SE (2nd gen) for one of my kids, that is using >2GB/day of cellular data for the Find My system service since the update to iOS 17. An impact of this is that the battery drains now in a few hours with all this cellular data consumption.

* It's not device specific - I set up another iPhone SE (2nd gen) as new on his account, and that immediately has the same issues with default settings. Also DFU firmware update of iPhone to 17.1 makes no difference.

* It is account specific. It only happens on his account, but not other kids' accounts that have identical devices and Find My settings. It doesn't even happen on the same device with the other kids' accounts.

* It started shortly after the iOS 17 update, it wasn't present on iOS 16. iOS 17.1 still has the issue.

I have an open escalation with Apple re: this new iOS 17 issue.
