Apple Music SharePlay not working in ois17

I can’t get SharePlay with Apple Music to work. I’ve tried with four of my family members and have received a message that “Something went wrong” on 3 phones, or “feature not available” on one phone. I am using the barcode, as no one is getting a notification when I start the session, as they

apparently should. The one phone gets the “feature not available” as soon as they click the music link, whereas the other phones get a chance to join the session, but then receive the other very unhelpful error message. We are all on ios17, and the phones are iPhone SE 2nd gen or iPhone 11. My vehicle doesn’t have CarPlay, just connected to regular Bluetooth, but I don’t believe this is a requirement - please correct me if I’m wrong. Anyone else having these issues or know how to fix it?
