How do insert page numbers on pages in iPad Pro 16.6?

Very frustrating. When I click on “documents” all i get is the option to include a Password. All I want to do is having pages numbers automatically inserted at bottom of page. Can’t find headers and footers. Google keeps taking me to apple support instructions that don’t apply.
