How to disable notification on iPhone that unlocks Apple Watch

I found the solution. Go to the apple watch app. Under ‘Passcode’, the second toggle option is ‘Unlock with iPhone’ = switch this off! 🤞🏻

Under settings Face ID and Passcode turn OFF unlock with apple watch.

I wholeheartedly agree. The notification is annoying and unnecessary. The notification gets in the way of using the phone in that area of the screen whilst the notification lingers (which it does for quite some time).

PLEASE make a way to turn this off. It’s a new feature - it has not always done this and only started for me after the last watch update. It’s ridiculous. Clearly no end-user feedback was done for this.

It's not the function people are asking about. It's the notification. I LIKE the function. I just don't need to be told it's happened about 100 times a day. And apparently there is no way to get rid of this specific notification that takes over the top of my iPhone

The more annoying part is if you swipe the notification away, your watch stays locked.

STOP NOTIFYING ME ON MY PHONE! Hella annoying! I’ve even stopped wearing my Apple Watch.

This is a new notification for me despite having an Apple Watch for many years. My husband says he’s always had that notification. I’m so impotently infuriated by this “new” intrusive notification that I’m tempted to go back an update or two in hopes it’ll go away again. Or just stop wearing my watch. I hate it so so much.

I don’t like the iPhone prompting me to lock or unlock my watch either. I would disable it if there is a way. If Apple has a reason why it’s desirable to lock/unlock a watch remotely from the phone, it would be nice to explain it to users. Thanks Axel for the Product feedback link; I sent my 2 cents.

I got a new phone and was forced to update and this extremely annoying and unnecessary notification “feature” started popping up and like others I tried to figure out a way to turn it off to no avail. Apple I know you like to fool yourselves you are improving your products with each update but if any of your updates include creating notifications that cannot be turned off you should stuff it. This is helpful to no one. I have ADHD so I try to have as few notifications as possible. I have precious little tolerance and low irritation threshold for getting interrupted by notifications in general so one that is constantly going off every time my hand is close to my phone is annoying to the point that I am filled with rage right now. Post a solution or fix this please.

Yes, exactly. It’s not the function itself it’s the popup covering up the screen for what feels like ages if you are waiting for it to go away. I have now disabled the function but there should be another way to get rid of the message.

This is identical to my end-user experience. It is not an exaggeration to explain the levels of frustration this causes. I’ve bought 4 watches for my wife and I. I won’t be wearing or buying one until i find the patience to sit down and waist my time figuring out a work around. Currently about 25 minutes of time throughout 2 sessions of attempting to simply remove a notification.

Yes this needs to be turned off. Not only does it make my phone more difficult to use in a snap when I need it, but if you change apps after unlocking your phone the notification pops back up and the timer for the notification showing resets. Very annoying, I know when my watch has been unlocked, thank you.
