Synced Content taking up a lot of storage in IOS 17

I have 50GB of music and when I synced my iPhone to Macbook,it doubled the GB's. Hopefully there is a solution to this. Not much about it on the internet as far as I know. Annoying!

Problems with iPhone Music and backups I have my 128 Gb iPhone 13 Mini (iOS 15.6) backing up and syncing to my 1 Tb M1 MBAir (OS 12.5). My MBA is my main machine, and has ~40 Gb of music on it, mostly ripped from CDs but about 10% purchased. My iPhone, however, has ~80 Gb of music showing when I check my iPhone storage. This showed up recently when I started to get memory storage warnings that my 128 Gb was getting full. Except it shouldn't be full. It has twice the downloaded music it should have. It should have ~45 Gb free. I tried to fix this by de-selecting Sync Music. That resulted in my iPhone having no identifiable downloaded music in the Music app. But when I checked the iPhone memory, it still said ~40 Gb was taken up with music (at least it was down from 80 Gb). I turned Sync Music back on, and an hour later, all the music was restored to the iPhone. But the playlists were not restored, AND the memory once again had 80 Gb of music. How do I get rid of the 40 Gb or "phantom music" that is taking up my iPhone memory space? How do I get my playlists back onto my iPhone?

iPhone Music app “Documents & Data” is too big after turning on “Sync Library” I have an iPhone 6s using iOS 15.5 and I turned on “Sync Library”, so I can access all my MacBook mp3 library from my phone. Can’t remember exactly when it started, but “Documents & Data” storage of iPhone Music app is too big (currently 8.15 GB). If I turn off “Sync Library”, then “Documents & Data” storage decrease to around 2.50 GB. I’m not sure if the increase in size after turning on sync library is a common issue for iPhone users or is it because the greater the mp3 library in a MacBook (mine has 440 GB), then much more storage for “Documents & Data”. Anyone with similar situation? .

Apple don’t want you ro do it that way, they want you to pay via icloud so they are making it difficult for us, by doubling anything you sync across devices . It’s a con and apple are no longer the ethical company they used to be just a money making machine. I am so sad as I have been with them since inception and it is appalling.
