We ordered the new iPhone shortly after preorders went live and we’re still waiting to hear back, haven’t had an email or anything from Barclays, order shows that it’s still on hold on the Apple Store pending Barclays approval.

Barclays emailed me around 1am saying they’ve accepted the application, the order status on Apples site is still on hold as of now but I assume that’ll update later today.

I received several texts asking me to log in and provide proof of identification. Did that, got told my application has been approved but no update on the Apple order. Checked finance agreement and order numbers match and they do. I know this is all automated so an unhappy path normally means an arduous amount of time trying to unpick the bug for everything to push through.

Lesson for apple here, never major launch on a Friday (it's the unwritten rule of programmers and product people everywhere) now a lot of people's weekend are ruined trying to sort this mess out.

Spoke with Barclays as the Apple “specialists” aren’t taking calls or messages at the moment…

Crux is wait for Apple to update system, nothing more their end to do. 24hours still no update on order from Apple…

Is there a contact number for Barclays that one can contact? Only got one text on friday night that they are experiencing some issues; its past midday, and not still heard any update from them about approval or any pending requirement. Might just cancel and go with my provider.
