Apple Music won't work in Ventura 13.5.2

Hello, I have a new Mac mini M2, OSX 13.5.2 and it seems that Apple Music is not working as it should.

I cannot drag and drop, it won't let me use the 'import' command and edit playlists.

It's also the only app that has crashed my Mac so far.

Any advice?

Many thanks

Mac mini, macOS 13.5

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

Hey valevari,

Let's see if we can get your Apple Music Library working as expected then. If you subscribe to Apple Music or iTunes Match, please make sure that Sync Library is turned on: Use Sync Library to access your music library across your devices - Apple Support

If you don't subscribe to either service, please test the issue after restarting your Mac in safe mode. Here's how: Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support. After following the steps under "Before using safe mode", here's the steps to start in safe mode for you Mac mini:

If you're using a Mac with Apple silicon
1. Shut down your Mac.
2. Press and hold the power button on your Mac. As you continue to hold the power button, your Mac turns on and loads startup options. When you see Options, release the power button.
3. Select your startup disk. It's named Macintosh HD, unless you changed its name.
4. Press and hold the Shift key, then click the “Continue in Safe Mode” button below your startup disk.
5. Log in to your Mac. You might be asked to log in again.

We want you to be aware that restarting in safe mode may take a bit longer than usual since it prevents some software from loading and does a check of your startup disk. You may also see some graphic anomalies on your screen as well.

Once you've tested the issue in safe mode, follow the steps under "If the issue continues in safe mode" or "If the issue doesn't continue in safe mode" depending on your results.

Please let us know the results when you're able.

All the best.
