I have an apple 11 phone; I want to add and delete names to iphone messenger. I followed the suggested steps to no avail: I typed the group message, I tapped the group icons, and swiped left over the name I wanted to delete...nothing happened.
You can only delete someone from a group chat if everyone in the thread is using iMessage. If anyone is using SMS, you can't delete anyone. You would need to create a new chat without the person(s) you no longer want to talk to.
