Recovery Key doesn't work.

I have a Recovery Key in the form of a screenshot that I took on my phone and emailed to myself when I created the key. When I try to use it to log in, I get "Your recovery key is incorrect" when it absolutely is not incorrectly entered. It is clearly the same as the screenshotted numbers. How can this be resolved?

The UI on the phone uppercases the input and separates the characters into groups of 4 - there are no hyphens. So far nobody at Apple can suggest a solution. I'm awaiting a callback from third level support.
