Error subscribing to Apple TV - "There was an error. Please try later."

I've been trying to subscribe to Apple TV for a couple of days now, but keep getting the error message, "There was an error. Please try later." I've tried installing updates and restarting the computer, but can't seem to get through. Any bright ideas?

I had a similar problem. Tried a different browser, Brave, and found apple TV wants to install a player via a pop-up. Enabling pop-ups for tv.apple.com allowed the install pop-up to proceed. After that I not longer got "There was an error. Please try later." It is unfortunate that lazy web designers do not properly parse errors and give proper responses.

Subscribing is an account property, so you may subscribe on any of your supported devices, connected to any network. If it doesn’t work at this time for your desktop computer at home, then try on mobile through cellular or a different Wi-Fi network. Did you try to subscribe at tv.apple.com?

On what computer did you try to subscribe? What is its version system software? What browser did you use, if any? Apple recommends Chrome or Firefox for Windows PCs and Android mobile devices.

Hey, thanks for the quick response!

I'm on a brand new Macbook Air with up-to-date software and Chrome. I've tried tethering through my phone data network (same result), but no other wifi networks yet. I had been avoiding signing up through my phone, only because the new computer ostensibly comes with 3 mo of free Apple TV, which doesn't register when I go through the phone. But that may be my only other option at this point, unless you have other ideas...?

Thanks, again

Ian.
