I got a new MacBook Air and forgot the password to get on it: What can I do?

I have forgotten my password to open my new Mac Air computer I purchased a new 15" MacBook Air on Sept 7th, at the Chestnut store in SF, CA. I began the process to using it, giving a password to open the computer, but didn't complete the process.... Weeks later, when I returned to opened it, it would not accept the password I remember giving to it...... It seems I am locked out of my computer..... What is the fastest procedure. To go back to the store?
