ipad won’t rotate. Lock is off, no side switch. All apps but Safari are closed. Automatic software updates on.

- Make sure Screen Rotation Lock is turned off.
- Remember that not all apps support rotation.
- "For iPadOS16, there is another workaround. If your iPad model supports Stage Manager, portrait Apps can be displayed in Landscape orientation.

Settings > Home Screen & Multitasking > Stage Manager > Use Stage Manager on iPad - set to ON"
