screen mirroring appletv+ causes black screen

I open Apple TV plus on my new iMac and start watching a movie. But when I screen mirror to my TV in the lounge the movie on the iMac goes black but with audio. The black screen mirrors to the TV as a black screen including audio on the TV. If I open a YouTube video on the iMac, it screen mirrors to the TV as expected. The error seems to be linked to trying to screen mirror Apple TV plus. I have set Mirror Built-in Retina Display.

iMac 24″, macOS 13.5

Hi KiwiDes,

Are you trying to AirPlay from your Mac to your TV? If so, follow the troubleshooting steps in If screen mirroring or streaming isn't working on your AirPlay-compatible device.

Note: "If you still can’t use AirPlay after trying these steps, contact Apple Support."

Thanks, I am clicking the screen mirroring button on the iMac....not sure if that is AirPlay or not. And when I do click on Screen Mirroring, the tv+ window goes black. Strangely If I start watching the Apple TV+ movie from my iPad I can screen mirror to the TV as expected. it seems it is only Apple TV+ that is giving me this problem. My iMac seems to screen mirror any other application. Regards Des
