SMSC number no longer working and I can't receive or send texts with iPhone

I’ve not been able to receive texts but can send them, so my service provider told me to type in *#5005*7672# to find the SMSC number but this no longer works

Re-contact your carrier, as this clearly isn’t resolved.

Outside of the recommended list, the Vertical Service Codes (#, *) can vary by carrier, and by carrier whim. That particular code is way outside the usual VSCs.
